Pay Per Click Advertising Search Tools
One of the best things you can use in the search marketing area is a pay per click program (mainly Google Adwords) where you can research the keyword and key phrase popularity of the your subject matter. Whether to use the terms word for word or use them for research is what makes the keyword tool important. We recommend using these programs and we will analyze for our customers on how to use them. Content and Subject Knowledge
More of a tip than a tool. There are so many people looking to chase the money train on the Internet by following the hot product or subject matter that can make them the most money. Some people buy domains, have these website ideas but have no real core knowledge of the subject. At least not enough to create the great content needed for good SEO performance. Sure - that is part of what we do and we can do a lot of this for you, but if you do not have a passion and well above average knowledge of the subject matter your site is built around, it makes it much more difficult to sustain consistant traffic and build quality content. It also will have a hard time competing with other websites that have better and stronger content.
HTML Title - Browser Titles
One of the first things I notice when I study a website that is not performing well on Google and the other search engines (well there aren't really more than 2 or 3 other real ones), is the lack of focus or effort put into the html browser titles. There is an art to this and ranking improvement can be dramatic - if the other areas of the site are set up properly - mainly content, headers and links.
